This month I decided to build a project showing my marketing expertise. My overall goal was to show a hiring manager my ability to learn and build a self-directed project in a timely manner. Below is my week four check-in. Each week this month I wrote a check-in to hold myself accountable to my monthly goals. You can access week three here:

I can’t believe it’s the final week! This month flew by! Overall, I feel confident in my project and the place I am now. I worked hard this month to build a project that has genuine value and I succeeded!

Plan for this last week

My big goal for this week is to clean up my landing page and make sure everything is smooth and running. I need to double-check my videos are all playing right and my blog posts are organized. Going along with that I will be making an end goal video explaining what I accomplished and what I could’ve done better. I feel like this will be the cherry on top of my project. Hopefully pulling everything together and showing a hiring manager I really can learn in a self-directed way.

I learned more than I ever thought I would

This month I have learned more than I ever thought I was going to. I got to work closely with a marketing director that really put in perspective the work it takes to be in a marketing career and honestly it encouraged me! It encouraged me to build a project with value and to never settle. It also made me realize that I love marketing. I love the details and thought that goes into it and the ability to work with a team.

I also got to learn a few tools that I love! HubSpot was by far my favorite tech tool to learn! I am definitely going to be using these tools in the future and I’m so happy with how all my tutorial videos came out. I feel confident in the knowledge I learned and I feel like my videos could help someone figure out how to use these tech tools.

Near future

In perspective, I have always known I was interested in marketing and everything that goes into it. Besides building a project showing my marketing expertise I built confidence! When I look at my landing page it really puts in perspective how much thought and time I put into it. My confidence went up when I realized that just in 30 days

  • I learned three tech tools and made tutorials on how to use them efficiently
  • I created blog posts to back-up my videos on the benefits of using these platforms
  • I documented weekly check-ins to hold myself accountable
  • I interviewed and created a blog post about a marketing director
  • I made goal videos on what I plan to accomplish and what I did

I am proud of the work I bring to the table and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. I had so much fun this month building this project and I think my work really reflects who I am as a person.
